Increasing awareness of hair transplant operation
In
the older days, there was little or nothing you could do about hair
loss and baldness. It is quite a natural effect of old age, but even in
case of hair loss at a younger age, there used to be little that you
could do about it. Various treatments such as natural oils or pills have
historically had little effect for treating baldness. But thanks to
modern medicine and surgical techniques, we now have a solution to
baldness, and that is hair transplant. There are many hair transplant
practitioners all over the world, and the awareness about transplant is
also increasing. More and more people in Turkey are also opting for
ahair transplant to address baldness.
Consequently,
there have been several developments in the field of hair transplant.
Some earlier surgical techniques are now being complemented and in some
cases superseded by newer techniques with significant benefits. An
example of a new technique that is being used is the FUE hair transplant
technique, which is now being used in place of the traditional FUT
technique in many cases.

The
main variation between these two hair transplantation techniques is the
method of extraction of hair follicles. The follicles are the roots
from which the hair grows. In both methods, these hair follicles are
surgically extracted from a donor region, typically from the back or the
sides of the scalp, and then grafted into the target areas which are
suffering from baldness. In the traditional FUT (Follicular Unit
Transplantation) technique, for extracting the follicles, a thin strip
of skin tissue, along with the follicles, is surgically removed. The
strip is usually 1 centimetre wide and several centimetres long. The
remaining skin is then stretched close and stitched closed. The hair
follicles in the strip are then separated from the excess skin tissue
and prepared for grafting by a specialist. Then they are grafted at the
target area, as earlier mentioned.

The
way in which the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique varies from
the traditional FUT technique is the method of extracting the hair
follicles. In this method, the hair follicles are extracted one by one
using a special hollow needle. This leaves very small circular scars on
the donor area. The diameter of these scars is typically about 0.6-1
millimetre, and since they are so small, they are hardly visible by
naked eye. Hence, this technique also allows extracting hair follicles
from other areas of the body such as the beard, arm, leg and armpits.
Using FUT technique for extracting hairs from these areas is usually
unacceptable since it leaves very prominent and large scars. Thus, this
allows more flexibility in terms of donor areas if for any reason it is
not feasible to extract the hair follicles from the scalp.
Since the hair follicles are to be extracted one by one, it is quite tedious and demanding in terms of the skills required from the surgeon. Hence searching for the rock bottom prices for hair transplant surgery is not a wise idea. We at FUE Hairline Clinic employ some of the best FUE hair transplant practising teams in Turkey.
